Our world is filled with colour. Lets take a moment to look around at what colours are trending in 2017.

Refreshing Greens
Each year Pantone Incorporated announces a Colour of the Year; a colour snapshot of what they see taking place in the global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude. In 2017 they have chosen Greenery. Greenery has been chosen for it’s “refreshing and revitalising shade” and for being “symbolic of new beginnings.”

Rich Deep Hues
As well as greenery, expect to see a rise in deep hues such as khaki and olive green, working alongside brick reds, maroon brown and charcoal grey to recreate a sense of rich and earthy minerals and materials. Terracotta and deep coloured woods will be back too.

Spicy Tones
The spice market will be inspiring the hottest home colour trends for 2017 says forecaster Victoria Redshaw from Scarlet Opus for Decor+Design. The colour palette will be earthy and soothing, with orange tones, muted saffron and cinnamon.

Deep Muted Tones
Dulux 2017 Colour of the Year: Starry Sky Starry Sky (70BB 21/147) is a mid-intensity, grey-violet colour that works well in any room. This purple is mysterious, exciting and calming all at once and provides a stellar decor backdrop.

Benjamin Moore’s Colour of the Year, Shadow 2117-30, is allusive and enigmatic — a master of ambiance.

So as you can see there has been a definite shift away from the popular pale, pastels and monotone greys of 2016. 2017 is the year of nature and all things natural as we try and stay grounded and revitalise in our technology filled world.
